VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Gambians to fill the following vacant position available at the Office of the President, State House, Banjul.

JOB TITLE: AUDIOVISUAL EDITOR, GRADE 8

Number of Vacancy: (One Position)

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Direct Entry:

  • Candidate must have a BSc Degree in Editing and Design with at least one (1) year work experience/ Higher National Diploma in Editing and Design with at least three (3) years work experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts digital editing of Statehouse video products, including streaming video for live press conferences and other events.
  • Generates and insert on-screen text and graphics in productions using cameras, digital video recorders (DVRs), switching equipment and digital editing equipment.
  • Manages room lighting; control microphones during filming; direct multi-camera studio equipment and video switching.
  • Prepares secondary footage for use in video productions of the President’s engagements (e.g. background footage that may be scattered through film coverage);
  • Operates portable equipment and work with the other production staff in pre-production planning and production;
  • Reviews footage, eliminating segments and scenes where necessary, using editing software; insert computer graphics and special effects as required;
  • Performs routine video and audio equipment maintenance.

COMETENCY REQUIRMENTS

  • Proficiency in the following software: Final Cut and /or Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and illustrator. Knowledge of CG software packages is a plus;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and knowledge of editing workflows;
  • Knowledge of hardware and software required for video and audio format conversion and compassion;
  • Strong will and self-motivation to complete tasks on time;
  • Experience in photography, videography and typography.
  • Ability to learn new software, workflows and implementation of new programs.

 

SALARY

The salary attached to the post is Grade 8 of the Government Integrated pay scale i.e 41,256 (forty-one thousand two hundred and fifty-six dalasi) per annum. Applicants should complete form (16B) available at the Records Office of the Public Service Commission PSC, The Quadrangle, Banjul and submit together with curriculum Vitae, copy of Certificates and other relevant documents to the said Records Office not later than 20th February, 2018 before 3:30 pm.
