VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Gambians to fill the following vacant position available at the Office of the President, State House, Banjul.

JOB TITLE: MULTI MEDIA ASSISTANT, GRADE 6

Number of Vacancy: (One Position)

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Direct Entry:

  • Candidate must have four (4) WASSCE credits including English & Mathematics and a Higher National Diploma in Media Studies / Journalism with at least two (2) years relevant work experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts general monitoring and administrative support for Press Office;
  • Assists in the ongoing implementation of the Office of the President’s proactive social media strategy;
  • Social media listening across all platforms on issues relating to the President of The Gambia, in order to trigger alerts as necessary- this is in the event that reputation management action may be required by the Office of the President;
  • Research: keep track of trends on social media channels and how these trends could translate for public relations purposes;
  • Analyses social media news coverage pertaining to the President of The Gambia and formulate creative strategies to gain more coverage on social media;
  • Collates social media and general media coverage reports;
  • Willingness to work occasionally work outside regular office hours including weekends is necessary. 

COMETENCY REQUIRMENTS

  • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of social media platforms;
  • Experience of social media monitoring and awareness of the way in which stories can develop on channels;
  • Always being on the ball, ‘listening’ and responding across multiple channels, tuning in to what is topical and hot for the day.
  • Excellent personal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain highly focused and detail-specific in fast paced and pressured environment;
  • Capable of multi-tasking
  • Knowledge of software packages such as Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Keynote and In Design.

SALARY

The salary attached to the post is Grade 6 of the Government Integrated pay scale i.e 27,475 (twenty-seven thousand four hundred and seventy-five dalasi) per annum.
